The Process
Step 1:
You and your company have a conversation about you working remotely from the Netherlands. This conversation should focus on making the change only and be about work expectations, salary changes (if any), and how to manage the transition. It's a big change and it's good to be as honest as possible and if either of you have questions, we can help.
Step 2:
RPWalter and we will draft a Professional Services Agreement that puts your conversation from Step 1 in writing. This agreement also includes the working relationship between RPWalter and your company, the term of the agreement, and any special considerations like Intellectual Property and bonuses.
Step 3:
Once that agreement is signed, RPWalter gets to work and drafts an employment contract for you that reflects Dutch employment law and the terms of the Professional Services Agreement. We also get ready to start the Dutch immigration process, apply for special tax exemptions, and other immigration work. You, as the employee will need to start getting ready to make the move, like obtaining Apostille versions of your birth and marriage certificates.
Step 4:
With a signed employment contract, you are now a consultant with RPWalter Consulting B.V. and your primary client is your old company. We will bill your old company for your services and pay you as our employee. As long as this is in place, you will have a new Dutch work permit visa. You can make the move whenever you like.We can help either you or your company at any step along the way.

RPWalter helped FIX-Health by hiring their CTO, sponsoring a work visa, assisting with relocation and integration, setting up accounting, payroll, 30% tax ruling service, and then outsourcing the employee back to FIX-Health. FIX Health’s CTO is now working remotely and living in Amsterdam. FIX-Health continues to grow without interruption. The CEO’s problem was solved.
